Hello, Oak Leaf! My name is Russon Bibbs. I am going to be serving with you this summer as an intern.

I’d like to take this opportunity to let you know a little about myself. I just graduated from Liberty Theological Seminary. I went to Liberty for my undergrad degree as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and made many wonderful connections and friendships that are continuing to this day.

I wanted to partner with Oak Leaf this summer because I love the way you at Oak Leaf don’t just come to church – you are the church. I find it so important to be able to express yourself as the person God made you to be and to use the gifts and abilities He’s given you to serve Him and His local church. I’ve seen this happening at Oak Leaf and I love the freedom found in that. I am looking forward seeing what God will teach me during my time here.

I grew up in the Roanoke, Virginia area. I come from an amazing family. My parents are wonderful and very supportive. I have a younger sister who is at Liberty finishing up her Master’s degree in counseling. I also have a dog back home named Nic and a cat named Wee. I have a great group of friends back home who I miss, but I look forward to all the new friends I will make in Cartersville this summer.

As for my long-term goals, I would like to serve as a student pastor, hopefully in a church plant. I have come to realize how important planting new and vibrant churches are to the Kingdom of God. I hope to use what I learn here at Oak Leaf as I venture out to wherever God wants me to go. If it’s what God has in store for me, I would love to find somewhere to get involved in the Atlanta area.

I enjoy meeting and hanging out with new people, so if you see me around, come up and say hi! I would love to get to know you better. I love watching football…Go Packers! [Though I am looking forward to checking out some Falcon games while I am here]. I also enjoy relaxing and listening to great music.

That’s about it. I look forward to meeting you all and I will see you around Oak Leaf!
