I think we have a very similar past. I was raised the same way. I was just telling my wife the other day that I feel like I have a different "head knowledge" about God now, but that my actions sometimes still act out the "works" to try and gain the love of God. Sometimes, I feel like I'm fighting what I was conditioned to believe. It's not an easy battle. Thanks for your honesty and for the encouragement. God is good and I'm very thankful for His grace.
